Why pay maintenance?

Maintenance is an optional yearly fee for licensees of the program. It gives the license owner a guarantee of updates, as well as replacement of lost HawkEye™ HASP keys and other technical support.

Without access to updates, a user is missing out on critical new features and innovations that are continuously being added to the software.

The concept stems from the fact that HawkEye, as well as all Performance Drilling Technology programs and all sophisticated software for that matter is a constantly evolving thing.

Programs like HawkEye™ are required to evolve because their native environment, Microsoft Windows, is always evolving as well. Furthermore, the developers of HawkEye™ are working every day to make the program better for its users.

Another thing to consider when it comes to maintenance is how much a program like HawkEye™ is worth to the company at which it's being utilized. If a small directional drilling firm is making on average, say, $1500 per day, HawkEye™ needs to be worth at least a tiny fraction of one percent of that company's yearly income in order to justify the yearly maintenance. From a strict business economics perspective, maintenance is an equitable, prudent and relatively small expense.
